How to Clean a Rolex

PDF Print E-mail

This has been a topic of debate recently, but it is clear that there is a process to keeping your collection of Rolex sparkling...

There has been some controversy, and I think it is rather simple to keep your Rolex and other luxury watches clean. Simple soap and water is what I have been using for over 15 years on all my high end watches with bracelets. I will say that a dish soap is not good as some have said that the grease removing agents will dry out the gaskets early. Even when you clean your bracelet often there is no reason why a gentle hand soap and your fingers can't wash your watch well. A moisturizing soap will pose no problem for your luxury watch if it is fine for your hands. I wash my Rolex Submariner on a regular basis and have not had anything build up on them. Always take the time to close the crown and be sure it can't unscrew. Look for any signs of condensation and if some is eveident than bring the timepiece in for repair. The ideas expressed here are only one way available to keep your Rolex or other high end watch looking like new. Other people might use a gentle brush, but this has never been necessary for me.
